Bat Boy the Musical
“Bat Boy the Musical” Story and book by Keythe Farley and Brian Flemming Music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe Directed by Dean Adams Music direction by Russell Young Co-produced by the School of Music and the Department of Theatre & Performance Studies. Inspired by the story that made The Weekly World News famous, “Bat Boy The Musical” features star-crossed love with the bite of tabloid-esque reality. This deliciously warped, modern-day musical comedy tells the compelling story of a bizarre half-human boy, his efforts to fit into the society that rejects him and the love that can at once save and slay him.

Fences
Directed by Karen Robinson One of the most beloved plays in August Wilson’s 10-play cycle chronicling African American life in the 20th century, “Fences” focuses on a family living in Pittsburgh during the early days of the civil rights movement. Troy Maxson, husband to Rose, father to Cory and provider for his family, struggles to reconcile his present identity as a garbage collector with his past potential as a negro-league baseball player before Jackie Robinson broke the major league color line. When a recruiter offers his son a scholarship to play college football, Troy rejects the opportunity as an impractical dream, and the ensuing father-son conflict tears the family apart. “Fences” interweaves poetry, humor and unforgettable characters to create a riveting drama that has become a highlight of American theatre.
